Ginkgo biloba dry extract (EGb 761).
Description
Each tablet contains Patented Standardised Ginkgo biloba extract 120mg equivalent to dry leaf 6000mg.
One film-coated tablet contains: 120mg pharmaceutically active component EGb 761, a dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67:1). EGb 761 is standardised to 24% flavone glycosides, 6% terpene lactones & less than 5ppm ginkgolic acids.
Action
Improvement of blood circulation and microcirculation by improving the elasticity of red blood cells and vessels.
Free radical scavenging.
Indications/Uses
Improve cerebral and peripheral blood circulation.
Improve mental alertness and concentration.
Improve tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and vertigo (dizziness).
Dosage/Direction for Use
The normal dosage is 1 tablet of Tebonin forte 120 mg daily. For more intensive use, 1 tablet may be taken twice daily. The intake of Tebonin forte 120 mg is independent of meals.
Contraindications
Tebonin forte 120 mg should not be used by patients with known hypersensitivity to Ginkgo extracts. As there is insufficient data, Tebonin forte 120 mg should not be used in children under 12 years of age and by pregnant and lactating women.
Adverse Reactions
In very rare cases, mild gastro-intestinal disorders, headache or allergic skin reactions (reddening, swelling, itching) have been observed following intake of Tebonin forte 120 mg.
There have been very rare reports of bleeding, following the consumption of Ginkgo biloba. However, correlations between Tebonin forte 120 mg and bleeding have not been proven.

Drug Interactions
Specific clinical studies did not point to interactions with acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and warfarin. However, interactions with drugs inhibiting blood coagulation cannot be completely excluded.
