Glycerol SuppositoriesGlycerol 2g Suppositories are used as a stimulant laxative specifically for the treatment of constipation in children.Stimulant laxatives stimulate the nerves of the lower intestine increasing gut motility which provides rapid relief from constipation. Stimulant laxatives may cause abdominal cramping and diarrhoea. Stimulant laxatives should not be used regularly. When suffering from constipation first encourage your child to eat high- fibre foods and drink plenty of foods before using a stimulant laxative.
